National profile

The Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) promotes and advances professional rehabilitation nursing practice through education, advocacy, collaboration, and research to enhance the quality of life for those affected by disability and chronic illness

ARN represents rehabilitation nursing through involvement with other organizations, associations, and government, including:

Official liaisons to 16 healthcare and nursing organizations to improve rehabilitation care.
Communicate with government agencies, media and public
Involvement in developing multidisciplinary clinical practice guidelines, attending White House conferences, and cosponsoring educational programs.

Chapter profile

The Greater Philadelphia Chapter, chartered in 1979, supports the mission of the National organization by:

Offering educational programs which promote rehabilitation nursing and improve the expertise of its membership
Providing a platform for the exchange of ideas in rehabilitation practice
Providing academic scholarships
Publish an award winning biannual newsletter called REHABility
Cultivating the membership in their leadership roles through participation in various committees
Updating membership on legislative activities regarding rehabilitation and relevant healthcare issues
Identifying resources available for clients in the community

Becoming a member

There are two ways to sign up for membership in the ARN Greater Philadelphia Chapter:

At an educational session: If you're a national ARN member, bring a check or money order for $15.00 to one of the educational sessions. We will notify national that you are a member.
By mail:
1. Print the application form.
2. Indicate Greater Philadelphia Chapter at chapter name at the bottom of the form
3. Add $15.00 for the local chapter dues to the national dues at the bottom of the form.
