Greater Philadelphia Chapter ARN has a longstanding commitment to our local community as well as the Rehab community at large. GPC has supported RNF for the past 20 years, the Brain Injury Association of PA, and the Wounded Warriors. In the spirit of continuing our commitment, The Greater Philadelphia Chapter this year supported CoBI, the Council on Brain Injury, a Pennsylvania based organization whose mission is congruent with GPC ARN's mission of community service for individuals with disability. |

In the past two years, CoBI, as a proponent of prevention, sponsors bike safety fairs across Pennsylvania. Through brain injury education and providing free bike helmets, this organization gave out over 1,500 helmets this year in partnership with BIA-PA. CoBI has also funded scholarships for families and survivors to the BIA-PA Annual Conference, as well as paid tuition for 23 individuals and family members to attend the Moss Model Systems Conference. The chapter has participated in CoBI’s annual fundraiser, David’s Drive, assisting as volunteers, participants and in the various raffles. In addition, over 20 members volunteered for a bike safety fair this past spring.
The Chapter also hosted on the Schuylkill. As corporate citizens, we invited political candidates to participate in a forum to discuss healthcare and other issues this fall. About 30 nurses participated in this outing. A part of our strategic mission is to increase knowledge and information; the government relations task force mirrors the ARN national agenda.
