Chapter Mission and Profile
The Greater Philadelphia Chapter, chartered in 1979, continues to support the mission of the National organization. The Greater Philadelphia Chapter has adopted the four initiatives of National's new strategic plan and we have implemented a program with each initiative, individualizing the objectives at the local chapter level in support of the new plan.
The four initiatives are:

ARN members work in a variety of practice settings, including:
Strategic Initiatives
1. Government Relations
Increase knowledge and participation in public policy relevant to rehab nursing
Strategies:
Annual event that concentrates on legislative issues
Government relations committee
Identify two national initiatives
2. Leadership
Recognized as a leader and preferred partner regarding rehabilitation
Strategies:
Provide opportunities to promote leadership within the chapter and within the rehab region
Leadership council(s): region and chapter leaders
Explore development of mentor program
3. Research
ARN will be the global leader in building, disseminating and translating the science of rehab nursing into practice
Strategies:
Identify resources/researchers in the area in rehab
Support National ARN research endeavors
4. Professional Development
ARN members will be experts and leaders in integrating rehabilitation nursing concepts into all areas of healthcare
Strategies:
Facilitate members to assume leadership/expertise
Faciliate expertise of advance rehab nursing practice through innovative methods and current practice standards of care delivery.
